Edgar is the Project Coordinator for the HIV Case Based Surveillance (CBS) at the School of Public Health, Monitoring and Evaluation (METS) Program, Makerere University. He heads a project implemented in partnership with Ministry of Health (MOH). He is primarily responsible for setting strategic direction for the project in addition to serving as a bridge between METS management and CBS stakeholders. His over 10 years’ experience in HIV/AIDS programing and management has enabled a well-coordinated program.
Edgar has vast knowledge of the National Health System management and has worked at Health Center IV, District hospital, District Health Officer and at the Ministry of Health. Edgar’s experience of working with USAID, CDC funded projects and the Government of Uganda (MoH) has equipped him with an excellent knowledge of both the PEPFAR and National reporting requirements. He has competences in data management, analysis and interpretation, reporting and presentation.
Edgar holds a Master of Public Health Degree from the School of Public Health, Makerere University and a Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery from Mbarara University. Additionally, Edgar holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation (PGD M&E) from Uganda Management Institute (UMI)
