Greetings to you all; our partners, funders, and stakeholders. I am excited to take on a new role as Director METS, that was established to create a center for excellence for strategic information, surveillance, monitoring & evaluation, and health systems strengthening.
The collaboration with Ministry of Health Uganda, and PEPFAR is ready to go to great lengths to strengthen health systems in Uganda through innovative capacity building approaches for an evidence based and effective HIV response while building a community of practice for long term sustainability.
Beyond this, we want to ensure that there is adaption of these efforts and systems that are being developed and maintained with the leadership of the relevant Ministry of Health departments and programs.
As I take office, I will be looking to you all for feedback on our efforts to improve service delivery; aligned to the national plans and guidelines.
As the HIV program implementation moves into epidemic control phase, we are looking to strengthen the public health institutions by demonstrating impact beyond HIV care leveraging the health system strengthening efforts to address surveillance and response across different disease spectrum of different diseases towards Global Health Security.
The move into new areas like advanced analytics and data science is to support the Ministry of Health to improve surveillance, disease modelling and disease projections to drive planning and programmatic response.
I am looking forward to working with all of you on this journey of service
