METS program has been working on an innovation (NextGen reporting) which aims at aggregating health data indicators from the UgandaEMR facility–based EMR to the national DHIS2 reporting platform to ease reporting and improve quality of data. The innovation exchanges HMIS reporting data through a secure health information exchange media to the DHIS2 system.

METS has now moved into the phase of piloting the innovation in selected health facilities. Prior to the implementation, the Ministry of Health has advised that a site assessment be conducted in order to select the most suitable health facilities for the pilot.
